Select Baits Lift UP Net
Finding a good landing net is far trickier than you'd think. First of all you need to know what you are looking for, what exactly should a good landing net provide. It's only after a fair few years and a couple dozen models, that we ourselves fully understood what we should aim for when buying a landing net. Our Select Baits Lift Up Net ticks each and every of these brackets and is quite simply a premium product. STIFFNESS: Any good carp landing net has to be stiff, both the pole and the frame/horns. The stiffer the ensemble, the more control you get in the most important moment of playing your fish. The last thing you want is that once the fish is landed, you can't actually lift it because the pole or the horns are soft and react with delay to your movements. Our Lift Up Net has been designed with VERY stiff components so that it reacts instantly to any force you apply. ROBUSTNESS: Although it might seem that the landing net is a relatively static/under-used part of your kit, at the end of the day it is precisely the piece of kit vested with one of the key roles in your entire fishing. There is quite a bit of pressure exerted on your landing net every time you use, which is why, the pole, the horns and most importantly the central block need to be tough and robust. Lift Up Net has a central block and horn joints made entirely of stainless steel. This reinforcement has been done through direct covering of the original components, rather than simply screwing over. The pegging points have been reinforced on the inside with additional layers of carbon weaves. These are fine details which one can easily gloss over, but they are vital. Normally you would find such features in landing nets almost twice as expensive, which allows us to feel quite confident in saying that our Lift Up Net is easily one of the best available on the market today. FISH-FRIENDLY NET: No landing net can be considered good if the net is not fish friendly. There are quite a few models out there that tangle in the fins or that strip away the carp's protective mucus. Once released the carp will thus be prone to parasites and infections. A good quality net must also not retain water, because if it does, the whole ensemble becomes too heavy to lift. The wrong net can completely nullify a landing net with otherwise great qualities. Our Lift Up Net uses a completely eco-friendly net, not too deep and reinforced around the corners where the highest stress is applied. DESIGN AND AESTHETICS: We oftentimes buy on impulse alone. If we don't like the appearance and design of a product we don't even start to weigh the pros and cons. Because every angler in our Select Baits team knows this we've designed the Lift Up Net to follow the latest "carpy" fashion. The pole boasts a slim design, while the central block and other steel components have been polished to perfection. All areas that are potential gripping points have been covered in rubberised Japanese shrink for an easy touch which permits perfect handling. All of these areas have been spliced with Golden Gudbrod thread, and the Lift Up Net alongside our Select Baits logo have been fully covered in varnish. We have put as much attention as humanly possible into the design details to create an aesthetically impecable look.
