Fluorocarbon hooklinks are extremelly popular these days between carp anglers around the world

To name just a few, fluorocarbon rigs are tangle free, invisible under water and have a higher density than water which make them sit on the lake bottom better than ordinary lines. 

In high pressured lakes or in carp low appetite periods of the season, during summer time or close to end of the season when water is very cold, a very discreet 14 or 16lb fluorocarbon in 25-30cm length rig can do the job!

Last but not least, one of the most important mentions on fluorocarbon rigs is that carp finds it more difficult to eject the bait. This happens because of the fluorocarbon stiffness when you use thicker versions, as 18 or 20lb.  

You can use fluorocarbon line in simple rig (just tye a hook and you are ready to fish!), or in combination with other type of hooklinks, most time with braids (combi rigs)
