Crab & Krill hardened
It took us almost 7 years to extend our hook bait range beyond our well-known cork particle range. This is not because it’s necessarily complicated to just sell a handful of regular boilies under the label “Special Hook Baits”. It took us so long because we wanted to come up with something truly special, worthy of the name “hook baits”.
We’ve named them simply “Hardened hook baits”. The name comes from the staple feature – because they are hardened, they can survive nuisance fish, crays or any sorts of damage brought about by water flows. Because they last longer on your rigs, the Select Baits Hardened Hook Bait essentially increase your chances of catching those old, cagey carp we all dream of.
Normally, most hardened hook baits come at the price of attraction. If a bait is to last longer, it must not allow water to flow in, which blocks attractants from coming out. This can be a real downside to most hook baits. We are confident in stating that we’ve found a nifty solution to this: we’ve added extra powdered additives and a specially designed hydration process to keep these additives as a protective layer on the bait. The process is in fact quite simple, but it requires time: after dehydrating the boilies for a few days to make the harder, they are re-hydrated and then dried once more. This helps fix the liquid attractants so that they don’t instantly wash away. Because the baits go through multiple cycles, they will only release flavors and attractants gradually. The next step is to add a complex of powdered attractants, many of which are superstars of carp fishing: pre-digested fishmeals, Green Lipped Mussel, Belachan, ADDAROME, liver powder, yeast, Dimethyl Propithethin (DMPT), Monosodium glutamate and others.
This rich complex of additives is completely water soluble and really sticks to the boilies. We came up with this layering solution because it is a fast-acting, 100% natural source of attraction. What we achieved is basically long-term attraction, regardless of how long you keep your baits underwater.
Our insider tip would be to use these hook baits as complements to your regular boilies. They were designed to offer maximum efficiency and they are a real edge in those long sessions when you’re aiming for new personal bests.
